How to Cross-List Poshmark to eBay (and Back) in 2026

Copy-pasting a Poshmark listing into eBay technically works. It just tends to sit. The two apps want different things. Poshmark buyers browse and send offers. eBay buyers type exact searches ("levis 501 32x30 black") and filter by size and condition. A listing written for one reads wrong on the other.

Below is what to change in each direction, field by field, with September 2026 fees and rules. If you are doing this for more than a few items, read how to sell on multiple platforms without double-selling first. Two live copies means two places an item can sell.

Poshmark vs eBay: What Changes Between the Two

Before You Start: Set Up eBay Business Policies

eBay stores your shipping, return and payment settings as reusable business policies. You can list without thinking about them in the eBay app, but any tool that creates eBay listings for you (including ours) needs them to exist. If they do not, eBay rejects the listing with an error like "User is not eligible for Business Policy", and nothing gets posted.

1. In eBay, open Account settings and find Business policies.
2. If eBay asks you to opt in, do it.
3. Create one shipping policy (for example, USPS Ground Advantage, handling time 1 business day), one return policy, and one payment policy.

You only do this once. After that, every new listing, by hand or by tool, can use the same three policies.

How to Cross-List From Poshmark to eBay

1. Rewrite the title for search

eBay's search reads the title literally, so spend the 80 characters on words a buyer would type. A good order is brand, model or style, item type, size, color, then one standout detail.

• Poshmark: "Free People Adella Slip Dress 🌸 So Cute!"
• eBay: "Free People Adella Slip Dress Womens Size S Floral Pink Midi Lace Trim"

Drop emojis, "NWT!!!" and anything like "so cute". Put NWT in the condition field instead, where the buyer's filter will actually catch it.

2. Pick the right eBay condition

Since February 2025, eBay splits pre-owned clothing into three grades. A Poshmark listing that just says "used" has to go somewhere specific:

When in doubt, grade down one step. eBay added the grades partly to cut "not as described" returns, and a buyer who expected Excellent and got Good is the classic case.

3. Fill in the item specifics

Poshmark asks for brand, category, size and color. eBay wants more, and its filters run on these fields. For clothing it typically requires brand, size, size type (regular, petite, plus), department, type, style and color, and it suggests more like material, pattern, sleeve length and fit.

Fill in the suggested ones too. A buyer filtering for "Material: Wool" never sees a listing where that field is blank, even if the description says wool.

4. Add the photos Poshmark buyers skip

Keep your Poshmark photos, then add what eBay buyers look for: the brand tag, the size and care tags, a measurement shot with a tape measure, and a close-up of every flaw. eBay allows up to 24 photos, so there is room. Detailed flaw photos are also your best protection in a not-as-described dispute.

5. Set up shipping

On Poshmark the buyer pays a flat label ($6.49 for up to 5 lb since September 2025), and you never think about it. On eBay you decide. Weigh the item packed. Then either charge calculated shipping, charge a flat rate, or offer free shipping and build it into the price. Free shipping helps in search, but remember eBay's 13.6% applies to the whole order, shipping included.

6. Price it

eBay's fee is lower than Poshmark's at almost every price, so the same price nets you more on eBay:

Poshmark buyers expect to send offers, so your Poshmark price is usually padded. On eBay, check sold listings for the same item (search, then filter by Sold items) and price near the middle of recent sales. If you want offers, turn on Best Offer and set an auto-decline floor so lowballers never reach you. Whether to pay for eBay Promoted Listings on top is a separate call.

How to Cross-List From eBay to Poshmark

1. Shorten the title and lead with the brand

Poshmark shoppers browse by brand, and the title shows in a small card on a phone. Cut the keyword stack down to what fits at a glance: "Levi's 501 Original Fit Jeans Black 32x30". Size and color have their own fields on Poshmark, so they can come out of the title if you need the room.

2. Pick a cover photo that works in a feed

A white-background eBay shot is fine as a second photo. For the cover, use a flat lay or a modeled shot with the whole item in frame. Poshmark allows 16 photos and a video, so carry the tag and flaw shots over too.

3. Move the condition into words

Poshmark mainly asks whether an item is New With Tags. Everything eBay's grades said now goes into the description. Start with one plain line, like "Pre-owned, excellent condition, no flaws" or "Good used condition, light pilling under the arms (photo 7)".

4. Price for the fee and for offers

Poshmark takes 20% of sales from $15 up (Poshmark fees explained). To net what you net on eBay, divide your eBay payout by 0.8. An item that nets $34.16 on eBay at $40 needs a Poshmark price of about $42.70 to net the same. Most Poshmark sellers then add another 10% to 15% so they can accept an offer or send one to likers without going under their floor. So that $40 eBay item lists around $48 on Poshmark.

Keep Both Copies in Sync

The moment the item sells on one app, the other copy has to come down. eBay counts a cancellation because "you sold it to someone else" as a transaction defect, and Poshmark counts it toward the cancellation rate that can restrict your account above 3%. Put the same SKU in both listings (eBay has a Custom label field; on Poshmark, add it to the last line of the description) so you can find the other copy in seconds.
